This post is about non vascular plants. Ferns are not a kind non vascular plant, but it reproduce like one. Non vascular plants do not have branches and trunks, so that means they can never be a tree, because a tree has a trunk and branches. Non vascular plants cannot grow, so that means they can never become the tallest plant in the world and non vascular plants are everywhere. Grass is a non vascular plant, it is one of the common non vascular plant in the world, there are more vascular plants than non vascular plants. Non vascular plants do not distribute resources through their body, only vascular plants distribute resources through their body. There are less non vascular plants than vascular plants. Both vascular plants and non vascular plants are good, they both have a way to survive, non vascular plants grow right next to the place were they come from but vascular plants grow a little far away or sometimes far away.

Moss is a type of non vascular plant, they grow on stones, the ground and other places, it usually grows at wet places, they look like little grass patches, moss are small, it can grow everywhere, like on old walls and old houses, the tallest species of moss in the world is called the dawsonia, it is small but it is the tallest of it's species, moss grow in shady spots, they don't like the dry places, so the dryer the place is the less moss grow, they will not grow in a very dry place with no shady spots, moss are meant to grow in shady places, they usually grow under tree because there is shade under the trees, they can grow in a forest, that is huge, because forests that are huge are shady, sometimes they grow on rocks that are close to a river or a lake. Sometimes moss grow on tree bark.

A type of non vascular plant is called horn wort, it can grow on tree bark, there are about one hundred different species known but new species are still being discovered, it like damp places, non vascular plants do not hold that many world records, but they hold one (they might hold more this is the only non vascular plant world record that i know of), non vascular plants hold the world record for the smallest plant in the world  they are tiny they live on top of water they are called wolffias  they are smaller than a pea,( but they look like a pea) they are commonly called water-meal or duckweed, there are about eleven species of wolffia in the world, they are about the size of a ant, so they are tiny, they look like green seeds that float on top of the water, they usually grow right next to each other.

Lichen is a type of non vascular plant and it is like moss. In some countries people eat them, but some of the types of lichen can be poisonous. Some people use lichen as dyes, they can grow in tree bark like mosses do, sometimes lichens are used to make perfumes, they also used to make traditional medicines. They sometimes grow at extreme environments such as arctic tundras hot deserts, rocky coasts and toxic slag heaps, they can grow on stuff that are made out of stone such as grave stones, walls and rocks. Lichens are usually a white green color, but some can be weird colors like red, yellow or orange, but in some countries lichens don't grow. Some people found out that lichens can survive in outer space, people were amazed when they found out that this happened. Some animals eat lichens like deers to survive.

There are more than one thousand species of grass in the world, bamboo is a non vascular plant because it is actually in the grass family. Even though it does not look anything like it, it is the biggest species of grass in the world. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plant. Some people use bamboo for making houses, they use bamboo to make a house because it is hard and termites cannot destroy it. They cannot destroy it because it is not a type of wood but it is hard like wood, they are also used for making paper, medicine and other stuff. The tallest type of bamboo is the giant bamboo, they can grow up to sixty five feet tall, that is big, the giant bamboo and the grass don't look like they are in the same family because bamboo is huge and hard but grass is small and soft.
