People sacrificed animals to god because animals and land was like money, so it was like they were giving money to god. When Abraham was ninety nine, god appeared then he let him have kids and even though Abraham was ninety nine but the bad thing is every man child will be circumcised, Abraham's descendents were a great nation because of the deal he made with god. Christianity said that there is only one true god and that is called monotheism. A lot of people still believe in Christianity. Augustus and Jesus were almost the same there were both the son of god, they both were the savior of the world but Augustus had one extra thing that was awesome, he was the emperor of Rome, they probably thought Augustus was the son of god because he was the emperor of Rome and they treated him like a god because everyone treats their emperor like a god.
