Nitrogen and Phosphorus Cycles

Phosphorus Exploding

This post is about nitrogen and phosphorus cycles. We do not need a lot of phosphorus in our bodies, our body is about one percent of it ( that is tiny, really tiny ). Phosphorus is explosive and that is why there is not many in your body and white phosphorus can be used for weapons like mortars. White phosphorus is dangerous if it explodes, it has a high chance of killing you but you can just be burnt by it and the pain hurts so much, you would want to die than feel the pain. There is not only white phosphorus there are also black, violet and red phosphorus, they don't look dangerous but they really are. Phosphorus look like stone but they aren't they are minerals and most minerals are dangerous like this one I am talking about right now. There is a picture of phosphorus exploding on this post but I don't want to show you what it looks like if you get hurt by it.

No really don't search for a picture of a person that got hurt by phosphorus because it is gross and really bloody ( seriously ). I saw a picture of it, I felt like I was going to throw up, it is burnt and it has bloody spots that are bleeding badly and if that happens to you, you would cry, don't play with phosphorus because the phosphorus might go boom. If it hits your face you will probably die. Nitrogen is everywhere, because it is in the air, we need nitrogen in our body but about 3% of our body is made out of nitrogen. There are three types of nitrogen, gas, solid and liquid, the gas is colorless, so that is why you can't see the nitrogen in the air. If nitrogen had color the world would looks really weird, it is a lot better if it stays colorless because it would be very annoying if it wasn't.

Now to talk about the nitrogen cycle, it starts with nitrate and then it assimilates that means that the plants gets the nitrogen by using their roots so that they can live and then an animal comes and then eats the plant and then gets the nitrogen and animals and people need nitrogen, so we have to eat some plants ( you should really thank plants because they give you nitrogen, air and wood to make stuff out of, so if there are no plants, everything is dead because we need air, nitrogen, fruit, vegetables and other stuff for us to live, plants are like our best friends they give us everything we need to live, plants can help with sicknesses like plants helped us with scurvy because if you eat fruit it will stop scurvy and that was really useful because scurvy was really horrible, good thing we know how to stop it  )

 If you expose white Phosphorus to the air it will glow, it is weird right, because not many things glow naturally, but white phosphorus naturally glow if it is exposed to the air. If you heat up white phosphorus, it will become red phosphorus, cool right? But if you heat up white phosphorus in a higher pressures it will actually make black phosphorus. Violet phosphorus is also called Hittorf's violet phosphorus and he heated red phosphorus in a sealed tube and then he made violet phosphorous. Almost all of the phosphorus are made out of white phosphorous but when I am talking how to make violet phosphorous, you might of noticed that I said that violet phosphorous was made out of red phosphorous, the violet phosphorous is the only phosphorous that is not made out of white phosphorous but it is a little bit because you make the red phosphorous out of white phosphorous.

Do not play with phosphorus because if you mix stuff with it, it might make it explode. You can make rockets out of white phosphorus, not rocket ships but rockets that used to destroy stuff. You can even make bombs out of white phosphorus( the bombs that the planes drop ). White phosphorus is bad because it can explode and kill people, but it is good because you can make explosives to destroy buildings and stuff( well that is a little bit bad but you have to protect yourself ). They used explosives in World War II and in the middle of world war I, so they used white phosphorus for making explosives probably before you were even born because world war I was a long time ago  ( World War I was ninety nine years ago and the middle of that is about forty something years ago )
